According to San Francisco State University, at least 18 kids have died so far this year due to heatstroke deaths in cars. Last year, 44 kids died. But one 12-year-old boy, Andrew Pelham, has come up with an invention that he hopes could stop those deaths. He invented the EZ Baby Saver when he was in the fifth grade.
The EZ Baby Saver is a strap made of rubber bands that parents can connect from the back of their seat, to their door handle. It’s made with bright colors, and is designed to stop them right before they get out of the car. The goal, serving as a reminder for parents that something may be in the back seat of the car.
