We begin this morning with many more questions than answers as the FBI and law enforcement officials in Boston begin to piece together what happened at the finish line at yesterday’s Boston Marathon.
Police now say three people were killed including an eight-year-old boy and more than a hundred injured. And witnesses describe the scene as like a war zone, with many of the injured missing legs.
President Obama promised that those responsible for the blasts will feel “the full weight of justice” but he stopped short of calling the bombing an act of terrorism; that was left to an anonymous White House official.
The Investigation: So far, there are no suspects in custody, no known motive and the investigation is just getting under way.
Police searched a suburban Boston apartment in connection with the bombings. TV stations reported that officers removed several bags from the apartment in Revere.
