Bill Cosby’s daughter, Evin, became the latest family member to defend the embattled comedian’s honor amid multiple allegations that he drugged and sexually assaulted women over several decades, in an exclusive statement Tuesday to “Access Hollywood.”
“He is the FATHER you thought you knew. The Cosby Show was my today’s TV reality show. Thank you. That’s all I would like to say :)” the 38-year-old wrote in a statement to the entertainment show.

Later, in a Facebook post, Evin Cosby went into greater detail about her father and the accusations that have been swirling around him for the past several weeks. “Rape is a serious allegation and it is supposed to be taken VERY seriously but so is falsely accusing someone,” she wrote.
“When someone rapes a person they go to prison. THAT should also happen to the person that has wrongfully accused an innocent victim. They are not ONLY destroying innocent people’s life they are ALSO making it hard for the MEN and Women to find justice when they have been raped,” she added. Bill Cosby has never been charged with a crime and has denied past allegations against him. His attorney, Marty Singer, has dismissed the claims against Cosby as “fantastical” and “unsubstantiated.”
Evin Cosby went on to question the legitimacy of her father’s accusers, a list which includes former models Janice Dickinson and Beverly Johnson, both of whom allege the 77-year-old comedian drugged them during the 1980s. “Drugged — you can remember the whole damn day but you were drugged? Just sayin. Memory — you can remember you looked at (allegedly) each other, people were starring allegedly remembering your home address allegedly the name you called him allegedly but you were allegedly drugged,” she wrote on Facebook.
Cosby’s daughter owns the women’s boutique PB & Caviar in New York City and attended Spelman College for two years. Spelman, a historically black women’s college based in Atlanta, recently cut ties with the Cosbys in the wake of the allegations against the iconic performer. “Spelman College should be ashamed of themselves,” Evin Cosby wrote on Facebook.

She concluded by thanking those who have offered support to her family during the controversy. Evin Cosby’s comments come on the heels of a statement written by her mother, Dr. Camille Cosby, obtained by NBC News on Monday.
“He is the man you thought you knew,” Camille Cosby said. “There appears to be no vetting of my husband’s accusers,” she continued, casting doubt on the accusers.
“We all followed the story of the article in … Rolling Stone concerning allegations of rape at the University of Virginia,” she added. “The story is heart-breaking, but ultimately appears to be proved to be untrue. Many in the media were quick to link that story to stories about my husband – until that story unwound.”
Bill Cosby himself spoke for the first time about the controversy this past weekend. In an interview with the predominately African-American publication The Washington Statesman, Cosby said when it comes to the allegations, “I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism, and when you do that, you have to go in with a neutral mind.”
A lawyer for Cosby says the reporter didn’t tell Cosby he was being interviewed for publication and recorded.
