Jarvis DeBerry, an opinion editor for MS NOW Daily, was previously editor-in-chief at the Louisiana Illuminator. A former opinion writer and editor at The Times-Picayune, he was on the team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. His journalism has been awarded multiple times by The Associated Press and the National Association of Black Journalists, and in 2020, the University of New Orleans Press published a collection of his columns called “I Feel To Believe.”
